The venue for the XVIII IUCR Congress is the Scottish Exhibition and Conferences Centre (SECC) situated on a superbly landscaped site on the banks of the River Clyde in the heart of Glasgow. The SECC has undergone a 30 million investment which was completed in September 1997. The upgraded facilities at the conference centre will make it one of the most modern conference centres in Europe, especially for meetings with 1,500-2,500 delegates.
Registration, the scientific sessions, poster areas and exhibition will all take place at this single site, situated 20 minutes from Glasgow airport and 5 minutes from the main rail stations. The site is also only half a mile from the city centre.
More details are available from the conference centre website.
Here is a reminder of what it looked like before September 1997.
